Deborah Covin Wilson, CPLP, SPHR, RCC
training and organizational development professional with over
twenty years of experience. Ms. Wilson has a master's degree from
Atlanta University. Ms. Wilson has also achieved the senior certification
in human resources (SPHR).
Wilson is principal of Wilson Associates, an Atlanta based organizational
development and training company that works with organizations
in conducting strategic planning retreats, team building sessions,
developing performance management systems and designing and delivering
training programs. Deborah delivers training and motivational
seminars in a high-energy fashion. Her areas of expertise include:
management and supervisory skills, customer service skills, leadership,
communication skills, team building, and preventing sexual harassment.
She is a certified mediator. Ms. Wilson is an adjunct faculty
member at Keller Graduate School of Management.
Wilson is also very busy in community and professional organizations.
She ws selected as a member of the ASTD National Advisors for Chapters (NAC) Committee
to serve a three year term 2004-2006. She wss elected as the 2003 President of the
Greater Atlanta Chapter of ASTD. Previously, she served in the roles of President-Elect
and Vice-President of Special Interest Groups.
She is currently on the board of directors of South DeKalb YMCA, DeKalb
County United Negro College Fund and Metro Atlanta Red Cross Human
Resources Committee. She also volunteers with Delta Sigma Theta
Sorority. Ms. Wilson is a graduate of Leadership DeKalb and the
United Way Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP). She is an active
member of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD),
College University Personnel Association -HR (CUPA), and Society
for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Wilson is currently working on an upcoming book entitled: "Resilience,
a guide for overcoming obstacles."
